Level 1 Bet Builder Tip
🎯 Gorka Guruzeta to have 1+ shots on target
📈 Odds: 1.50
Despite featuring sporadically this season, Gorkan Guruzeta bagged himself a brace in the previous game against Celta Vigo on the weekend, so should be pushing to start in Rome.
He managed three shots in that game, all of which were inside the box, before being replaced after 77 minutes.
Given that we are covered by the SuperSub rule with this selection, it bodes well that his replacement, Alvaro Djalo, also got on the scoresheet despite appearing for just 15 minutes.
Last season, Guruzeta topped the scoring charts for Athletic Club in La Liga, with 14 goals from 30 starts. His shot on target rate of 1.14 per 90 was only bettered by Inaki Williams, highlighting how he is able to position himself in fantastic goal scoring positions.
🎯 Niccolo Pisilli to commit 1+ fouls
📈 Odds: 1.29
19-year-old Niccolo Pisilli has started the last three games for Roma, playing alongside Bryan Cristante and Lorenzo Pellegrini in midfield.
He has looked eager to impress and full of energy when he presses. Despite being yet to complete the full 90, he has made six fouls in three games, picking up a booking in each of his last two consecutive matches.
Most recently, he made one foul against Udinese before being subbed after 60 minutes.
Given that his minutes are expected to be limited in this game, we can take advantage of the SuperSub rule with PaddyPower. In the previous game against Udinese, Pisilli was replaced by Leandro Paredes, who had an average of 1.02 fouls per 90 in Serie A last season.
🚀 Tommaso Baldanzi to have 2+ shots
📈 Odds: 1.30
Lorenzo Pellegrini was substituted for Roma in their previous game in the 68th minute due to a knee injury. He was seen applying ice to the affected area in the dugout shortly after, so comes into this match as a doubt.
His replacement, Tommaso Baldanzi, scored the third goal of the game to confirm the three points for Roma – he will now be pushing for his first start of the season in the absence of his captain.
Baldanzi managed just six league starts in the previous campaign, but had an average of 2.61 shots per 90. Only Paulo Dybala ranked higher.
If he does start, Baldanzi is expected to play the most advanced of the midfield trio, emulating the role of Pelligrini.
🎯 Roma to have 4+ shots on target
📈 Odds: 1.25
Daniele De Rossi was recently relieved of his managerial duties of Roma, after a four-game winless start to the season. Roma were unfortunate though, as they scored just two goals from a total of 5.65 xG.
Ivan Juric got off to an ideal start as the new manager, as Roma cruised past Udinese at home by a scoreline of 3-0 – the Romans finally seemed to click in the final third.
Roma played with a bit more intensity in that game, and managed eight shots on target in total. In their only other home game this season, Roma managed seven shots on target against Empoli.
Athletic Club presents a tougher matchup, but in their away games so far this season, the Spanish side conceded 3 shots on target to Leganes, six against Las Palmas and five against Barcelona.

Level 2 Bet Builder Tip
🎯 Artem Dovbyk to have 2+ shots on target
📈 Odds: 2.20
Since arriving from Girona, Artem Dovbyk has managed a shot on target in four out of five games for Roma, only failing in a tough matchup away against Juventus.
Roma have been able to create chances at will, with at least 15 shots in every league game so far, excluding that Juventus match.
The Ukrainian has got on the scoresheet in each of his last two games, registering two shots on target against Udinese in his most recent game.
Prior to that, he had three shots, all of which were on target, against Genoa.
All three of those shots were big chances, worth a combined 1.06 xG, which shows how the focus for him is to operate in goal scoring positions – just as he did at Girona last season. With Paolo Dybala expected to play behind him, chances should once again be aplenty.
⚽ Both teams to score
📈 Odds: 1.85
After a rough start to the season, with a large discrepancy between goals scored and xG created, Roma were certainly due some regression, which came against Udinese. Chance creation has not been an issue this season, as Roma have created an average of 1.5xG per game.
Following a start under Juric, Roma should come into this game full of confidence to get on the scoresheet at least. Artem Dovbyk seems to have settled into his new surroundings, and has scored in each of his last two games.
Athletic Club also pose a significant attacking threat, and have netted eight goals in their last three games. They have failed to score in just one game so far, which was a tough match against Atletico Madrid.
🛑 Inaki Williams to commit 1+ fouls
📈 Odds: 1.40
Inaki Williams played the full 90 in the previous game, and is expected to retain his spot as his brother, Nico Williams, nurses an ankle injury.
Playing on the right wing, Williams has made seven fouls in his last five games, with at least one foul landing in each of those games.
The Spaniard had an average of 1.02 fouls per game in La Liga last season, registering at least one infringement in ten out of 14 league away starts.
Given that Roma have seen more possession than their opponents in every league game so far, Williams is expected to shoulder his fair share of defensive duties, finding duels with Angelino and Stephan El Shaarawy.
🛑 Bryan Cristante to commit 2+ fouls
📈 Odds: 1.53
Operating as the more defensive midfielder, Bryan Cristante has made the most joint-most fouls for Roma (8) alongside Lorenzo Pellegrini.
In his most recent game, he accumulated three fouls, also picking up a yellow card against Udinese. He looked a bit isolated at times in that game, and struggled to contain the physicality of Keinan Davis when he dropped deeper.
Given that Cristante will have to deal with the likes of Inaki Williams and Gorka Guruzeta, who are extremely physical and invite duels, the Italian is set for a tough task.
Cristante seems set to remain in his defensive midfield role under the management of Ivan Juric, potentially taking on a bit more responsibility in the absence of Pellegrini.
