We’d have to be very unlucky for this one not to land. Fernandes has had at least one shot in every game he has started for Portugal over the last year.

He averages over two shots per 90 in all competitions he has played in bar one going back to the start of the 2022/23 season.

It is a similar story to Fernandes with Szymanski, who is averaging 2.25 shots per game for Poland in this Nations League campaign. Since November 2023, when he has started and played more than 47 minutes for Poland, he has taken at least one shot.

In the Turkish Super Lig he is taking 2.14 shots per 90. In Euro 2024, he only played 113 minutes but still managed a shot. He took three shots against Portugal in the reverse fixture.

Zalewski is a tricky winger who plys his trade in Serie A with Roma. He has had a shot in each of Poland’s Nations League games so far, scoring against Croatia and Scotland.

He has attempted at least one shot on goal in eleven of his last thirteen games for Poland. He did also take a penalty for Poland when Lewandowski was off the pitch.

The Southampton centre back usually plays in the middle of a back three for his country, where he will be in and around the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafa Leao, Pedro Neto and Bruno Fernandes, who all know how to draw a foul.

He has committed one foul or more in each of Poland’s four Nations League games, and in eight of his last 12 International appearances.

This looks a straight forward assignment for Portugal, especially given they beat Poland 1-3 in October.

Portugal have won three of their four games after drawing with Scotland last time out. They have only failed to win once on home soil since October 2022, and that was a friendly.

Poland have only won once in this years Nations League, losing two and drawing one. I don’t think they have the defensive capabilities to prevent Portugal from winning.

Both teams have scored in three of each teams four Nations League games. Portugal and Poland are very capable of scoring, both having scored 7 goals.

It is Poland’s defensive record that lets them down, conceding over two goals per game in Group 1.

Portugal have only conceded three goals, but as advised they came in three separate games. They will be out their main centre back Ruben Dias for these two games as well.

As touched upon in bet builder 1, Bruno Fernandes has taken at least one shot in every Nations League game so far.

In terms of shots on target, his figures in the Nations League are : two, two, two and one.

He comes into the game in strong goalscoring form, with four goals in his last four games for Manchester United.

Szymanski has taken two shots in each of his four Nations League games so far. He averages over two for his club as well, and has done for the past five seasons.

Given the stats quoted, he obviously achieved this in the reverse fixture and I see no reason why he can’t do it again.
