While we wrote about the Cavaliers season win total before the season started, I can‘t say I expected them to begin the year 11-0. On the other side, the Bulls have gotten out to the start everyone expected, currently sitting at 4-6.

The strongest part about the Cavaliers defense is the rotating big men of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, who make the paint a very tough place to score for opposing teams. This will force teams to shoot more from the outside, making Coby White a very intriguing option.

While he hasn’t been the most efficient this season, the volume is more than good enough to cash this. The threat of Zach Lavine back in the lineup helps take pressure off him as well. White is currently averaging 3.4 threes on 9.0 attempts and has gone for 4+ 3PM in six of his 10 games this season. We are getting a good number here because of the Cavaliers defense, but if anyone can exploit it, Coby White would be the guy.

So far this season Darius Garland is averaging 20.2 points on 14.2 FGA and 7.3 3PA in just under 30 minutes per game. While he’s gotten more efficient at the rim, we’ve also seen a boost in 3-point attempts volume, which will be big against the Bulls. I have a hard time seeing this team contain an aggressive Darius Garland, especially whilst having to still contain Donovan Mitchell. All the double teams Mitchell is going to command will benefit Garland spacing-wise even more.

Additionally, Darius Garland has levelled up in the scoring department, especially in the paint. So far this season he has a 63% field goal percentage on drives, 67% at the rim (20-of-30), along with an insane 78.5% on floaters (22-of-28). In past seasons Garland was a guy who would only take that extra step in the scoring department when Donovan Mitchell was out, so seeing him come out of the gate aggressive is a good sign that this trend will continue.

The other target we like on the Cavaliers is Evan Mobley to continue his strong season. It’s clear the emphasis this offseason was making this team more balanced, and guys like Garland and Mobley will need to continue to step up. That being said, I see no reason why the gameplan would change considering the strong start the Cavaliers have got off to.

We now get Evan Mobley in a good matchup against the Bulls where they just don’t have the size to match up with his game. They’ve allowed the most points in the paint so far this season and Mobley will definitely be able to capitalize.

He now faces a Bulls team giving up the 2nd most points to opposition power forwards.

We are getting a really good discount here because of the tough matchup on paper. That being said Giddey has seen some notoriously strong defenses like the Timberwolves and Magic and still performed well. Even in their 99-point failed performance against the Mavericks, he was able to record six assists before the blowout.

The Cavaliers are not the target here, but this number is too good to pass up considering he’s over this line in five straight and seven of 11 games. Josh Giddey is one of my favourite targets because his role is fairly secure no matter what the gamescript is. This Bulls team is not going to make the playoffs this year, and it’s going to be incredibly hard for him to lose playing time no matter how the game is going. Plenty of guys can quickly lose minutes in the rotation but Giddey is locked in as a developmental piece.

Even if he loses some reps they still want to give him every opportunity possible to continue to grow his playmaking skill set. We will be taking advantage of this low number for a player who might hit this mark in 20 minutes.
