Last year’s impressive hero, CORACH RAMBLER, was a winning selection for us in the 2023 renewal. He bids to go back-to-back as a clear favourite, following an excellent third in the G1 Cheltenham Gold Cup, keeping on nicely before tiring late. That should have put him spot on for this target and with winning experience over the Grand National fences and marathon distance at Aintree, he is the one to beat. Any drying of the ground will be a positive.

MAHLER MISSION has been kept fresh for this huge prize, not running since a highly encouraging runner-up spot in the Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Newbury in December. That was a clear personal best and he could have more to offer in handicaps on just a second effort here. Stamina has been a main attribute in his career thus far – he was cruising before falling in the 3m6f G2 National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham last season. He acts on soft ground and could be one to offer each-way punters a good run for their money.

🐎 Nassalam E/W
One runner who will appreciate soft conditions at Aintree is NASSALAM. The emphatic 34-length winner of this season’s Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase was pulled up in the G1 Cheltenham Gold Cup last month – he couldn’t sit handily against speedier types – and should have more to offer in this attritional test against arguably slower rivals. He ran an eye-catching fourth in the Grand Sefton Handicap Chase over these fences in November and could have a say in the finish at decent odds, raised significantly in trip.
