Sweden Allsvenskan Accumulator Tips
This was always going to be a challenging season for Varnamo after losing their highly rated manager Kim Hellberg to Hammarby. They have one of the lowest budgets in the Allsvenskan and it’s no surprise to see them hovering just above the relegation zone. Losing 1-0 last week in Halmstad was quite a worrying result for the hosts, with Anes Mravac’s side often being more convincing on the road. Varnamo hold the worst home record in the league, winning just once across their eight matches in front of a home crowd.
Perhaps the biggest shock result of the Allsvenskan season so far occurred last week, with Sirius beating Malmo 1-0 in away territory. The visitors rode their luck at times, however, they have played some great football this season which is why they are in a solid mid table position. Sirius are a team with plenty of goals in them, even without top scorer Yousef Salech who remains an injury doubt. If there is one area of concern it’s the visitors’ defence, with Sirius allowing the second worst xGA in the Allsvenskan (26.4). However, Sirius know their strengths and weaknesses, and their clean sheet at Malmo last week ultimately proved their capabilities.
Sirius look underrated here. Varnamo are quite an underwhelming side and are definitely at risk of relegation this season. Sirius can be inconsistent but proved that they can beat anyone on their day last time out. They could have, and perhaps should have, taken six points off the best team in Sweden in their last two outings, and as long as they don’t let things slip after last week’s impressive win, the visitors should have no issues here. Taking Sirius double chance offers some fantastic security and terrific value.
Malmo’s shock defeat to Sirius last week has perhaps opened the door to Djurgarden in the Allsvenskan title race. The hosts are currently four points behind top spot with a game in hand, so we should see a highly motivated and focused home side in this game. Kim Bergstrand’s side will come into this fixture in high spirits, with his side completing a 3-1 aggregate win against Progres Niederkorn, securing their place in the third qualifying round for this season’s UEFA Conference League. Djurgarden’s recent outings have been packed with goals, with a minimum of three flying in in five of their last six matches.
IFK Goteborg head into this game off the back of a crazy 4-3 defeat against Brommapojkarna last week. The turning point was the injury just before half time to talented young keeper Elis Bishesari, who is doubtful for this match. The visitors’ replacement goalkeeper Anders Kristiansen does possess some quality; however, he did struggle last week. Goteborg have looked much improved offensively since they changed manager a few rounds ago. They have threats all over the pitch now and will need to rely on scoring more goals here if they defend like they did last week.
At the fourth time of asking, an IFK Goteborg under the management of Stefan Billborn saw a minimum of three goals last week, and we should expect more of the same to come. Billborn will not set up his side to defend and Djurgarden could cover this line on their own. Nonetheless, IFK will fancy their chances against a team in the middle of a European run though and should offer plenty of threat. An open game is to be expected at the Tele2 Arena.
