Luke Humphries is eliminated regardless of what happens in this final group game so potentially it’s a difficult game to assess.
He’s been off the pace this weekend and in a social media post following last night’s loss he suggested that he’s had other things on his mind. He’s still managed to hit over 2.5 maximums in both games he’s played in the event so far and that’s the angle we’re taking again here.
He notched up three against Rowby-John Rodriguez and four against James Wade despite losing both games 5-3. Looking back slightly further, since the World Grand Prix he’s played sixteen matches and managed to achieve this target in ten, again many of which were short-format games.
Obviously, the more legs played in this, the better the chances ‘Cool Hand Luke’ has of achieving this mark. Mansell will give him a difficult game when you consider he’s coming into this on a six-match winning streak which includes victories over Raymond Van Barneveld, Gerwyn Price and James Wade. This could well have eight or nine legs played and that should see the target surpassed.
