One of the standout ties from the final set of group games at the Grand Slam of Darts sees Michael Smith square off with Mike De Decker on Tuesday night. Given the state of play in Group E, this is effectively a straight shootout to determine who will progress alongside Jermaine Wattimena.
Smith started his campaign with a 5-2 win over Mensur Suljovic before being thumped 5-1 by the already-qualified Wattimena. Meanwhile, De Decker also came up short against the Dutchman but bounced back with a win of his own over Suljovic.
Despite being demolished 5-1 on Sunday night, Smith heads into this showdown as the 1.83 favourite. But rather than backing ‘Bully Boy’ at those odds, opting for him to hit three or more 180s holds much more appeal at 1.9.1
The tournament’s second seed is notorious for being a frequent 180 hitter. In fact, the St Helens star ranks fourth for 180s scored across the entire PDC in 2024 with a return of 527, a tally bettered only by Luke Humphries (643) Wessel Nijman (681) and Luke Littler (713).
