Some injuries should have healed up over the international break to give them a better shot of winning at Ashton Gate.

Burnley may sit four points off the top of the table 15 matches into the campaign but this is mainly through an incredible defensive record. They’ve conceded only six league goals, which is an average of 0.40 per game. It has needed to be strong considering they’ve only scored more goals than two other top-half clubs in the division. Scott Parker’s men are averaging 1.20 league goals per fixture.

On paper, this will be the toughest home league contest of the season so far for the Clarets. This is because they’ve not faced any club positioned in the top-eight at Turf Moor so far. This partly explains why they possess one of four remaining unbeaten home records in the Championship. This team have won the xG battle in five of their seven home league battles.

Parker’s men have the third-highest average ball possession in their league with 57.30, so they should dominate Saturday’s clash in that regard. However, they are averaging slightly less shots per league game than Bristol City despite this increased amount of ball time in comparison. One area they are clear of their opponents on is the number of cards issued. They average 2.27, whereas City average 1.73.
