Bayern may have lost two Champions League matches already this season, but both of these defeats came away from home.

At the Allianz Arena, FCB have been extremely powerful. They have already beaten Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in Europe while they have also recorded a 1-0 win over Benfica. Furthermore, they are almost perfect in the Bundesliga, winning four of five, with the exception a game against Bayer Leverkusen that they dominated.

PSG have yet to find their feet in Europe this season, winning just one of their previous four matches, despite three of these being at home.

Travel to face a Bayern outfit that is of a similar standard to Arsenal, who comfortably beat Luis Enrique’s side 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

PSG have shown a weakness when playing away from home this season, with only four of their seven matches ending in victory. Two of these have been against Ligue 1 sides expected to fight relegation.

Overall this season, PSG centre-back Willian Pacho has conceded 0.83 fouls per 90, but in the Champions League this figure leaps to 1.25 per 90 against a higher standard of opponent.

Pacho notably conceded three fouls against Arsenal in his only previous away Champions League fixture for PSG. This is also the game that is most likely to resemble Tuesday’s in terms of how it is played out.

The Ecuador centre-back is well versed with Bundesliga opposition, having signed from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer. In his matches against Bayern last season, he notably conceded at least one free-kick in both games. Gave away two fouls when he visited the Allianz Arena in April.

Will go head-to-head with Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, who has won six fouls across his four Champions League matches this season, including at least one in each of his last three.

Musiala might not have had as many shots or shots on target this season as Harry Kane, but in terms of value, the attacking midfielder is an excellent pick.

The Germany international has 11 shots and five shots on target in 232 Champions League minutes this season. This means that he is having 4.23 shots per 90 and 1.92 shots on target per 90. He trails Kane in both metrics, but not sufficiently to justify the huge difference in price.

Offering strong consistency in his shooting when given a start in the Champions League this season, with four shots in both games he has featured in from the outset. Has had multiple shots on target in both of these and notably scored the only goal against Benfica in the previous round of games.

Comes into his match having had an astonishing ten shots against Augsburg at the weekend, while he also managed six shots on target. Both of these are season-high figures for the attacker.

A high-scoring encounter in this match seems inevitable given the attacking power of both teams but also the propensity that both clubs have of conceding goals.

Bayern have played 17 fixtures this season, with only four of these games producing under three goals. Indeed, they Vincent Kompany’s side have scored three goals themselves in four of the last six matches they have played and have already hit this figure on 11 occasions this term.

PSG have not been as prolific as their hosts but have only failed to score on one occasion this season, which suggests that there is every chance they will find the net at the Allianz Arena. Defensively, however, they have been questionable. They have conceded two goals in two of their last three games, while the clean sheet they achieved against Toulouse on Friday was just the fifth they have achieved this season, which points to goals for the prolific hosts.

Ousmane Dembele may only committing be 0.67 fouls per 90 this season across all competitions, but with five fouls in the Champions League, he is only one spot off PSG’s leading criminal in the competition.

Of PSG players who have featured for at least 150 minutes of Champions League football this season, Dembele comes out on top as their most prolific fouler, with 1.72 per 90.

He has committed at least two fouls in each of his last two Champions League games, while he was not involved against Arsenal away from home due to a dispute with Luis Enrique.

While he is often taken off around the middle of the second half in domestic games, the winger typically plays more like 80 minutes in the Champions League.

Will be head-to-head with Bayern left-back Alphonso Davies, who is Bayern’s most fouled player in the competition with eight drawn. He has picked up two in each of his four appearances.

Hakimi has been dubbed PSG’s most dangerous attacker this season in sections of the French media because of the way he has consistently provided a dangerous outlet on the right of the park. Has relentlessly attacked for Luis Enrique’s side.

In all competitions this season, he has had 30 shots, which is third among all PSG players. This works out at 2.24 per 90. In the Champions League alone, he has had 17 shots, which is more than any other PSG player and puts him joint fourth among all players. He has 4.25 per 90 on average.

He has managed at least two shots in each of PSG’s four Champions League fixtures this season, including two away against Arsenal in what has been the most difficult fixture to date.

Liable to be handed a similarly attacking role in this game, particularly if PSG find themselves in a losing position. He has also played every minute of the Champions League this season.

With both teams fighting to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition, this is a game that has a good deal riding on it, with both teams in a tense position in the competition. Expect it to be a highly competitive affair in this case.

PSG need to become more aggressive, which is reflected in the fact that they have only picked up three cards in the competition so far. The status quo cannot continue and Luis Enrique’s side are liable to be asked to be harder in their tackles, even if it means giving up a handful of cards.

PSG have drawn ten cards from their opponents so far in the competition at an average of 2.5 per game. Bayern stand at 1.5 per game, so combined this makes 4.0.

Referee Istvan Kovacs averages 3.31 cards per match this season, having taken charge of 16 previous games. In his last Champions League match, he handed out four cards in the clash between Inter and Arsenal at San Siro earlier this month.

PSG are likely to receive a higher foul count than they are used to in this match because of Bayern’s likely dominance of the ball. The home side have had at least 60% possession in each match they have played this season and have bossed 70% or more in three of four Champions League matches. PSG should expect to do a lot of defending.

Luis Enrique’s side are going to have to make themselves more difficult to play against, and that could mean making a number of tactical fouls. They have given away at least nine fouls in each of their last three matches, as well as each of their last two outings in the Champions League.

There’s a good deal riding on the game for PSG, who will be in a bad position in the competition should they lose. As such, it would be unsurprising to see an element of frustration creep into their play if they are behind, and that could result in an inflated foul count.
