Boca Juniors have defied the odds and reached the Copa Libertadores final which takes place on Saturday 4th November.

Their home tie in the Copa de la Liga against Estudiantes is their last match before they travel to Rio de Janeiro to face Fluminense on their own patch.

As a result, manager Jorge Almiron will be looking to rotate his starting XI heavily to make sure there’s no fresh injuries heading into the final. We saw Almiron change ten of his 11 players against arch rivals River Plate before their crucial second leg semi-final tie against Palmeiras.

Even the Superclasico came second-best to the Libertadores and we’ll see this once again on Saturday – which has been missed by the market. Boca made changes in midweek in their 2-1 defeat away to Racing. There was no Valentin Barco or Edinson Cavani to be seen – and they’ll be well rested once again on Saturday.

Estudiantes head into this fixture on a good run of form away from home. They’ve lost just once on the road in the last five, which was a last minute defeat to Platense.

To make this bet stronger, Estudiantes beat Boca Juniors in their own back yard in April this year, 1-0, and they’ll be relishing the opportunity to win against a weakened Boca side.

Boca, on the other hand, have only won one in six at La Bombonera. They can’t achieve anything domestically, and it’ll be an opportunity to get minutes into their youngsters – but nothing more.
