🚂 Train Bet 1 (Was 1.44, Now EVS)
🏴 Celtic to win (v Hearts)
🏴 Falkirk to Win & Over 1.5 Goals (v Alloa)
🏆
Competitions: Scottish Premiership and Scottish League One
📅
Kick Off: Saturday 4th May at 15:00
Brendan Rodgers’ side have won four of their last five Premiership matches and they’re top of the table.
In those five matches, the game they didn’t win was the 3-3 draw in the Old Firm at Ibrox. There’s another meeting coming next week, so a Celtic win over Hearts this weekend allows them to maintain at least a three-point gap before hosting Rangers.
Also, with Celtic playing on Saturday, a win creates an initial six-point gap over Rangers who play on Sunday, mounting the pressure at least momentarily.
Celtic’s form since the back end of last year has put them on track for another title. They’ve only failed to pick up maximum points in four of their last 16 matches in the league.
Hearts were the last side to inflict a rare defeat on Celtic on their own patch back in December. It’s difficult to see it happening again though with how big a win would be for Celtic, and they’ve won six of their last seven at home, scoring at least three goals in each of their last three.
Falkirk have an obsession with going through the season undefeated, and they have just one hurdle to clear to achieve that remarkable feat. Standing between them and history are an Alloa side that will have its eyes on a midweek play-off against Hamilton.
The Bairns may have drawn their last two matches against Kelty and Annan, but those teams still had much to play for. Alloa quite simply don’t and it would be little surprise to see the visiting Wasps rotate heavily for this game as a consequence.
Falkirk, meanwhile, have been relentless at home all season. They have won 14 of their 17 matches, scoring 45 times in the process. In recent weeks, they have been especially prolific. It has been eight matches since they last failed to score at least two goals in a game, while in their last seven fixtures, they have netted 27 times.
Recent matches between these two clubs, meanwhile, show a strong bias towards Falkirk. Saturday’s hosts have won the previous fixtures between the clubs this season 4-1, 3-0 and 5-0. Expect this to be similarly one-sided.
