Lazio take on Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, as both sides look to bounce back from crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday. Returning to Serie A action where both teams are unbeaten in five matches. Lazio exited the competition after VAR controversy when Porto were awarded a penalty which was ultimately the difference between the sides. Napoli also suffered home defeat to Barcelona resulting in them leaving the competition too, with full focus returning to the league as Napoli look to win the title for the first time since 1990!
As I said, both teams arrive without defeat in their previous 5 in Italy’s topflight. Both teams have also scored 10 goals in these 5 games so go into this one in similar form. A late header from Victor Osimhen helped his side to a draw against Cagliari last week. Maurizio Sarri’s side are the top scorers in the league and will be up against the best defence in the league so it will be an interesting matchup between these sides!
Lazio will be without the services of Lazzari for this clash, but Napoli will be without up to 5 players with Anguissa, Lozano, Malcuit, Lobotka and Tuanzebe all unavailable for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
Take a look at my 3 favourite selections for this one along with research for each one. I have also made a pre-match cheat sheet for you to dive into to help with your bets.
Lazio v Napoli Bet Builder Tips
Both Teams to Score
For the first selection of the bet builder, I am going for both teams to score. Both sides have extreme quality in attack with Immobile and Oshimen likely to lead the lines for their clubs. Ciro Immobile is the leagues top scorer with 19 goals in 21 games and is showing no signs of slowing down for the remainder of the season.
Lazio are the highest scores in the league behind league defenders Inter Milan, scoring 53 goals in Serie A so far, they have scored in their last 4 games in all competitions and the Napoli have scored in all 10 of their games since 22nd December.
In terms of head-to-head, out of the last 10 times these sides met, 6 of these games have seen both teams scoring with 2 or more goals in 9 of these. Napoli have seen both teams scoring in their last 4 whereas the home side have seen both teams scoring in their last 3.
This is a big fixture for both as Napoli look to keep the pressure on both Milan sides at the top of the table and Lazio will be hoping to maintain their gap from Fiorentina below them in 7th place.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to have 2+ Shots
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has impressed again for Lazio this season and has caught the eye of giants across Europe hoping to get him in the summer. Milinkovic-Savic is one of the most complete midfielders in the league with his strength, pace, passing and shooting abilities which have helped him register 8 goals and 8 assists for Lazio this season. He is capable of playing in a number of positions in the midfield, but his goal contributions have seen him play in more of an attacking role.
As you can see from my Cheat Sheet below, Milinkovic-Savic averages 2.22 shots per game. The midfielder often fancies his luck from range and his physical presence in the box also allows him opportunities, standing at 6.2 feet so he can win balls in the air too.
Milinkovic-Savic has had at least 2 shots in 3 of his last 5 games from midfield, taking his total shots for the season to 50 and I fancy him to have a big part to play in the midfield on Sunday.

Prediction: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to have 2+ shots
Giovanni Di Lorenzo to be Booked
As you will see from the yellow cards section on the Cheat Sheet, there is no shortage of yellow cards in the Serie A. The referee for this one is Marco Di Bello, who averages 4.30 yellows per game and I think this will be cards galore as there has been 5 cards in each of these last 5 meetings between the sides!
Napoli’s right back, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, is the man I am backing for a booking to round off this bet builder. The Italian averages 1.27 fouls committed per game making him see yellow 3 times already this season.
However, it’s the potential opponents that caught my eye for this selection as he will likely be facing Mattia Zaccagni who averages 3.87 fouls drawn. On the left of midfield is also likely to be Luis Alberto, so I think that Di Lorezno will be in for a long night, especially if the score line isn’t going his sides way.
Di Lorenzo has seen yellow in the last 2 meetings against Lazio and the right back should start at right back again having played all 26 games for Napoli this season.
